Eileen Marie's Story
Life
The summer before my senior year, my family moved back to Maryland. I got the great pleasure of attending an all girl Catholic school,(yikes). Then went on to get a B.A. from University of Maryland in 1989. After graduation I moved to Charleston, S.C. where I lived for two years and worked as a counselor. Then in 1991 I moved to Idaho with the man who I would marry in 1992, Richard Denton. I got my Masters in Education, School Psych in 1995, from Idaho State University and have worked in various counseling positions since.
Most recently, created a non-profit counseling and wellness center, Alices House, Inc. in Blackfoot, a small community of 10 thousand, next to the ShoBan Indian Reservation. We write grants and provide services primarily focused on the areas of prevention, education and treatment of substance abuse issues among our youth.
I also have owned a business since 1993, Stellar Thoughts. It started as a Bead/Hippie shop named Elfstones, then in 1998, I closed the retail side of it and specialized in "metaphysical counseling" which includes past life regressions along with palm/tarot/crystal readings. Kinda different and loads of fun! Especially since I live in an ultra conservative mormon area. ( stellarthoughtscom )
In 2007, I purchased a circa 1900 Victorian home where I house both businesses and rent out offices, it reminds me alot of the houses in the historical section of Morristown, NJ and it even has a few ghosts to boot. My husband is a paramedic/firefighter for Pocatello, which is one of the largest towns in SouthEast Idaho (50-60 thousand). The town we live in is all of 400 people. We own 40 acres and have a newer home.(which means it has yet to be finished completely)
We became the guardians of a teenager,
Sally, in 2006 at the age of 15. Now 25 and married, just completed her MSW from Syracuse - quite an experience & all good, I would take in more- Rich is a bit more practical about that, oh well. Therefore lots of critters; horses, mule, cows, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, geese, a duck or two, a herd of goats, cats and dogs (Newfies, of course) make up most of the crew.
For fun, we tend to do a lot of outdoor stuff, camp, hike, snowshoe, white water raft, etc. I go back East 1-2 times a year to see the family, Rich's family and friends come out here to hunt and fish at least once a year.
I have recently learned to silversmith and create jewelry. I work for myself, counseling , creating fun stuff and doing readings. Oh and I own a 4-plex, which is it's own set of rewards/challenges.
I've taught classes in Psychic Profiling for Idaho State University, and now we do a few retreats a year on Tapping Into Your Intuitive Skills, Meditation, Crystals, etc, which is loads of fun and lucrative part of my business, along with going on the Fair circuit for a few months a year. ð
